Epson projectors are monitored via the PJLink protocol. As the protocol is not enabled by default, action must be taken by the user to enable it.

Steps before monitoring:

1. Connect the projector to the network (reachable from the Edge)
2. Obtain the projector's IP/hostname
3. Enable PJLink
4. (Optionally) Set PJLink password

The steps above are specific to each Epson projector, consult the official Epson documentation on details on how to perform each step.

Example for CB-L630U

Get The projector IP. For example using On-Screen Menu (OSD):

1. Power on the projector.
2. Press the [Menu] button on the remote control.
3. Navigate to Network → Network Configuration.
4. Go to the Wireless LAN or Wired LAN tab (depending on your setup).
5. Look under IP Address or Status. You'll see the current IP address listed.

Enable PJLink:

1. Press the Menu button on the projector's remote control.
2. Navigate to Network > Network Configuration > Basic.
3. Set PJLink to On.
4. *(Optional) Set PJLink password (up to 32 alphanumeric characters. Note that spaces and symbols (except for "@") are not allowed.)

"Notified IP Address" is called in some Epson projectors "PJLink Notification". It might be confusing but this field is not relevant. No need to change it

In order to control your Sony Bravia displays, the following steps are required:

1. Connect the display to a network
2. Enable IP Control
3. Configure Authentication

Connecting the display to a network

Wired (Ethernet) Connection

1. Plug an Ethernet cable into the TV's LAN port.
2. On the remote, press Home → go to Settings → Network & Internet.
3. Ensure "Wired" or "LAN" is selected.
4. The TV should automatically receive an IP address via DHCP.

Wi-Fi Connection

1. On the remote: Home → Settings → Network & Internet.
2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
3. Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and connect.
4. Check assigned IP via Network Status.

Optional: Set up IP manually via IP settings if needed.

Enabling IP Control

1. Press the HOME button on your remote.
2. Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Home Network Setup > IP Control.
3. Set Control Remotely to On.

Configuring Authentication

1. In the IP Control menu, select Authentication.
2. Select "Pre-Shared Key"
3. Set the Pre-Shared Key under "Pre-Shared Key"

Logitech network connected devices that support CollabOS can be directly monitored via the Xyte Edge. To enable the devices to expose APIs a user intervention might be required.

These Shure devices are monitored over Shure's third-party control protocol (command strings on TCP port 2202). The port is open by default, so usually nothing has to be switched on. What matters is which address you claim the device with, and whether the Edge can reach port 2202 on it.

Steps before monitoring:

1. Find the device's Shure Control IP address. The P300, MXA310 and MXA910 each have two IP addresses: one for Shure control (Designer, firmware updates and third-party control) and one for Dante audio. In Shure Designer, click Online devices, double-click the device to open it, then go to Settings > IP configuration.

   

2. Claim the device with the Shure Control IP, or with a hostname that resolves to it. The Dante audio address does not answer on port 2202, so a device claimed with it reports no data.

3. Allow TCP port 2202 from the Edge to the device. If the Edge and the device are on different VLANs or subnets, open TCP 2202 on any firewall between them. Port 2202 can be closed on the device itself; if it was, open it again.

4. If you use static IP addresses, set both the Shure Control and the Audio Network settings to Manual in Designer.

5. If you claim by hostname, make sure the hostname resolves on the network the Edge runs on.

6. Keep the firmware up to date, using Shure Designer or the Shure Update Utility.

The ULXD4 is not configured in Designer. Claim it with the IP address shown in its network settings, and make sure TCP 2202 is reachable from the Edge.

📘

If the device answers ping but Xyte receives no data from it, the Edge can reach the device but not port 2202 at that address. Check steps 2 and 3.
