Bulk Add Assets

Use this article as a reference when filling out the Bulk Add Assets template. It covers each column in the template, which are required, and what to prepare before uploading.

Before you upload

  • Confirm the Customer and Space referenced in your file already exist.
  • Assets are inventory records — they are not connected or monitored, so no IP, MAC address, or connection parameters are needed.

Column reference

These are the columns in the Bulk Add Assets template.

How to submit

Save your file as a CSV with the column names above as the header row, and name it assets_bulk_upload_for_<org name>.csv (replace <org name> with the tenant name). Then email it to [email protected], and the Xyte Support team will process the file and add the assets to the specified spaces.

Additional notes

  • Space Path uses the same separators as your space hierarchy — for example, Campus / Building A / Room 101.
  • Vendor, Device Model, Type, and Status accept either an existing value or a new one — matching the "select or add / create" behavior in the Add Asset form. New values are created automatically.
  • Purchase Date should be entered as YYYY-MM-DD (for example, 2026-06-02). It is stored as an ISO 8601 timestamp (2026-06-02T00:00:00Z) and shown in the assets list as a readable date such as Jun 02, 2026.
  • The in-app Add new asset form also offers an optional Comments field, which is not part of the bulk template.
