Samsung — Device Setup Parameters

These Samsung models need parameters entered in Xyte after they're claimed. Families that need the same parameters are grouped together below.

Other Samsung models

Only the families listed above have a dedicated Samsung driver. Other Samsung models are still monitored, but with heartbeat only — reachability and nothing else, no display telemetry and no commands, and no parameters to enter. If you need full monitoring on a Samsung model that is not listed here, ask us about driver coverage for it.

Parameters

• Display ID (optional) — If Display ID was set for screen it is needed to establish driver communication. Otherwise default ID (0) is used.

On the device first

Two settings on the screen itself decide whether it reports at all. Check both before adding parameters here.

1. Point MDC control at the network, not RS-232. The MDC control protocol — labelled PC Connection in the OSD on some Samsung screens, under the System Settings sub-menu — must be set to RJ45 (LAN) or Wi-Fi Network. Left on RS-232, the screen answers pings but never answers the driver, so it looks reachable and reports nothing.

2. Enable Network Standby so the screen stays reachable while it is off or in standby. On some Samsung screens this sits under System → Power Control. Without it, the display disappears every time it is powered down.

Then, if a Display ID was set on the screen (via the remote menu), enter that number here. If not, the default 0 is used.

Both routes open the Add credentials dialog shown above.

From the Devices table — select one or more devices that need these same parameters (they show Missing Credentials), then click Add Credentials in the action bar. The button is enabled only when every selected device has identical requirements (usually the same model):

From the device page — open the device (it shows the isn't reporting data yet banner), then ⋯ → Edit:

Once saved, the Missing Credentials flag clears and the device starts reporting — your confirmation it worked.
