Frequently Asked Questions
Security Requirements
Network access
The following domains and ports must be allowed for correct operation of the various functions. The communication is always from within the customer network to the internet. NO INCOMING PORTS ARE REQUIRED.
Accessing the interface
To enable users inside a customer network to access to the interface:
- Access to the domain (app.xyte.io or a OEM custom domain) on port: 443.
Allowing devices to connect to the server
Devices that connect to the cloud require the ability to contact the server:
- Access to the *.xyte.io subdomains on port: 433 (HTTPS) & 1883 (MQTTS).
Organizations where a proxy is used, must configure each of the managed devices to use the proxy and allow the proxy access as defined above.
Devices with tunneling
Devices that support remote tunneling require additional contact to the tunneling server:
- Access to eu1.tunnel.xyte.com on ports: 49152 - 65534
Browser Compatibility
Xyte fully supports the latest versions of all the major browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari.
Periodic compatibility tests are performed on legacy platforms:

Bulk Claiming of Devices

Space Management
Change space priority
A space's priority can be set via the Space screen which is accessible from Dashboard settings. Changing the space's priority will automatically raise or lower the priority level of all incidents created by devices in that space (and in child spaces, if inheritance is not disabled).
Devices monitored via Connectors (Cloud 2 Cloud)
Can I delete a space that has a Connector attached?
The Connector must first be deleted, trying to delete the space will result in an error.
What happens if I move a monitored device to a new space?
The device will continue to be synced in the new location. Moving the device to a new location on the original cloud (e.g. in Zoom) will not move it on Xyte and will not break the sync.
What happens when a Connector is removed or disabled
All the devices will remain in Xyte but will not get any more updates.
What happens when a Connector is re-authenticated
The devices and spaces will not be affected, the synchronization will continue from the previous state.
What happens when a Connector is removed and re-added
The original spaces and devices will remain but will no longer get updates. A full new import will occur.
