Overview

The Xyte Edge is installed on the local Customer LAN and should have direct IP access to all devices to be monitored. There is no requirement to be on the same subnet and monitoring devices from multiple subnets is possible if there is a route from the Edge to the Devices to be monitored.

All communication is always from the Edge outwards. Both when connecting to devices via APIs and when connecting to the Xyte server. No incoming ports or connections are ever made on the Edge.
