Review connector options, statuses, device import states, and sync behavior for Cloud2Cloud connectors.
Connector options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Disable / Enable | Disables and re-enables the connector using the same credentials. |
| Delete connector | Deletes the connector and all claimed devices. Cannot be undone. |
| Regenerate link | Creates a new URL and passcode. Use when you want to log in with the same or new credentials. |
| Re-authenticate | Re-authenticate using the same credentials. Applicable for MTR connectors. |
Connector statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Connector is active. Devices may be in Active or Excluded state. |
| Disabled | Connector was manually put into a disabled state. |
| Error | Connector encountered an error and requires attention. |
| Unauthenticated | Connector was created but has not been authenticated yet. |
Device statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Devices found | Total number of devices the connector was able to identify from the provider. |
| Active devices | Devices currently receiving telemetry. Note: a device may still report as offline via telemetry even when active. |
| Excluded devices | Devices that no longer appear in the provider's response. On each sync, Xyte compares the current device list to the previous one — any device missing from the latest sync is marked as disabled and excluded from future syncs. |
User actions and sync behavior
Actions in Xyte
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| User deletes a device in Xyte after it was imported by the connector | The connector marks the record as disabled, keeps it in the database, and skips it in future syncs. |
| User moves an imported space tree in Xyte to a different location, and later creates a new space in the vendor cloud | The new space is created under its matching parent space in Xyte, as long as that parent space already exists there. It is not recreated under the original connector path. |
Actions in the vendor cloud
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| User adds a new device in the vendor cloud after the connector was created | The device is imported during the next successful sync. |
| User deletes a device from the vendor cloud | The device is automatically deleted from Xyte after the configured grace period. The default grace period is 24 hours. |
| User renames a device in the vendor cloud | The updated device name is reflected in Xyte after the next successful sync only when device name syncing is enabled. |
| A device disappears from the vendor response temporarily | The device is marked as disabled until it appears again in a future sync. |
| A previously excluded device appears again in the vendor response | The device is imported again on the next successful sync. |
| A device exists in the vendor cloud before the connector is created | The device is imported during the first successful sync after connector setup. |
Sync failures
| Event | Result |
|---|---|
| The connector sync fails | No device changes are applied until the next successful sync. |
