Device statuses

StatusMeaning
Devices foundTotal number of devices the connector was able to identify from the provider.
Active devicesDevices currently receiving telemetry. Note: a device may still report as offline via telemetry even when active.
Excluded devicesDevices that no longer appear in the provider's response. On each sync, Xyte compares the current device list to the previous one — any device missing from the latest sync is marked as disabled and excluded from future syncs.

User actions and sync behavior

Actions in Xyte

ActionResult
User deletes a device in Xyte after it was imported by the connectorThe connector marks the record as disabled, keeps it in the database, and skips it in future syncs.
User moves an imported space tree in Xyte to a different location, and later creates a new space in the vendor cloudThe new space is created under its matching parent space in Xyte, as long as that parent space already exists there. It is not recreated under the original connector path.

Actions in the vendor cloud

ActionResult
User adds a new device in the vendor cloud after the connector was createdThe device is imported during the next successful sync.
User deletes a device from the vendor cloudThe device is automatically deleted from Xyte after the configured grace period. The default grace period is 24 hours.
User renames a device in the vendor cloudThe updated device name is reflected in Xyte after the next successful sync only when device name syncing is enabled.
A device disappears from the vendor response temporarilyThe device is marked as disabled until it appears again in a future sync.
A previously excluded device appears again in the vendor responseThe device is imported again on the next successful sync.
A device exists in the vendor cloud before the connector is createdThe device is imported during the first successful sync after connector setup.

Sync failures

EventResult
The connector sync failsNo device changes are applied until the next successful sync.
